Aamir Khan is back to teach India

You’ve heard of final year IIT and IIM students being offered huge pay packets by multi-nationals in on-campus interviews for their services later on, right? But here’s a turn for the book. Fresh graduates from India’s premier technology and management institutes have pledged to keep their private careers on hold for two years and, instead, dedicate their time and knowledge to teaching less privileged students in government schools across the country.

The students, who have already been snapped up for big posts and fat salaries by corporate giants, have apparently asked their future employers for time in which they might fulfil this mission. There’s more in stuff. Bollywood’s Aamir Khan, who played a dedicated teacher in his home production Taare Zameen Par, is all in favour of this sacrifice being made by the students and wants to encourage them all the way.

Aamir Khan
, who started to feel strongly about the impact of education on youth after closely working himself with The Times Of India’s Lead India movement, added, “Not only will it contribute greatly to the education of many of our underprivileged children, but it will also help shape these highly-motivated youths into extremely sensitive and enriched citizens of our great culture.”
